Tick off your bucket list:

  • Tick as much off your “bucket list” as you like! All you need day to day is a smile and a “can do, just do it” attitude.

New Zealand Tourism season:

  • Anytime from late September to the middle of May is the ideal time to visit New Zealand. During winter (June to early September), there is snow on the Southern Alps and around the centre of the North Island where our biggest ski-field, Whakapapa, is located.

Self drive (rental car) or Private driver/guide or Escorted coach tour options:

  • Option: when not self-drive - your very own private driver tour guide - or, escorted small coach travel. Will deliver enthusiasm, professionalism, passion, excitement, knowledge, and organisation. All our guides are skilled and experienced in touring New Zealand. Real New Zealand Tours guides work hard to meet and exceed your expectations on a daily basis. Ask as many questions as you like, when your guide doesn’t know something (very rarely happens!) they will find out by the day’s end and advise you. All of our guides have their very own secrets, whether it a beautiful secluded location or a sensational restaurant popular with the locals, and will readily share all of this with you.

Daylight saving time:

  • Starts around the last Sunday in September and finishes on the third Sunday in March.

Daily departure time:

  • We want you to see and experience as must as possible while in our beautiful land, so some mornings we may be up early, for example, our Milford Sound trip. Most mornings breakfast is from 7.30am - 8 am. However, we have ample flexibility with all our itineraries, so we can adjust this to suit your needs. Breakfast each morning is an ideal time for your guide to outline details of your itinerary, expected weather conditions, breaks for lunch, toilet, coffee, shopping, dinner, any organised activities or attractions, the location of banks or post shops and so on.

Daily expenses:

  • For lunch and dinner (supper) with drinks included, perhaps allow NZ$200 per couple (tipping is not expected in restaurants). However you may elect to tip your professional guide. All breakfasts are included in your itinerary (continental or fully cooked).

Please note:

  • Lunches and dinners (suppers) are not included. However, your guide knows each locality intimately and will offer you several choices of cafes and restaurants including their favourite. Some people simply enjoy a picnic lunch beside a beach or a remote lake, maybe "Kiwi" traditional fish and chips! (very popular).

Free days:

  • Are exactly that, for you to decide what you would like to do and at what time. Our guides are still available to assist and advise you.

Arrival at destination:

  • Your guide will endeavour to arrive at each day’s destination in time for you to have some free time to freshen up before your evening meal, at least an hour most days. Usually, you would be in bed by 10 pm.

Evening Accommodation:

  • With all our bookings, wherever possible we request quiet rooms, and with views when appropriate.
